TurfPages™ has been in operation for ten years, and was one of the first companies to see the importance that the Internet would come to play in the turf industry. It originally began under the guidance of the Institute of Groundsmanship, a partnership that reflects TurfPages™ ongoing dedication to professionalism and impartiality. Although this partnership has now officially ceased, TurfPages™ continues to keep to these values.

The original layout involved a simple listing site, with various tiers of membership. This system worked well in the early part of the 21^st-century, when e-commerce didn’t play as large a role as it does today. As such, this system of listing corporate websites was extremely effective, and helped TurfPages™ gain a well-deserved reputation as the premier website for the turf industry.

However, the market has moved on considerably in the last few years with the explosion of e-commerce and new companies in the sector. TurfPages™ was not updated for a time.

In November 2009, a UK-based company decided to take over the running of TurfPages™. As the old system was outmoded, it was decided to create an entirely new directory using new specifications more suited to today’s market. However, we’ve also taken the decision to make the site the ultimate resource for turf growers, suppliers and users. Reflecting our broad directory, we decided to include advice for the maintenance of turf, allowing even complete novices to get a better idea of the purposes and use of turf. This helps make TurfPages™ a better and easier site to use, and creates a larger market of potential customers for the companies listed within the website.

We don’t claim to be the absolute authority on turf in the UK. Rather, we feel that with the combined knowledge and contacts of the turf industry in the UK we can become best resource for both buyers and sellers of turf and turf related products.

TurfPages™ remains a resource for the UK turf industry alone, and can only accept listings for companies operating within the UK. There is, as yet, no equivalent resource in the USA or Europe. If you do run an equivalent site from any other country, then please contact us so that we can grow partnerships with other turf advice and directory sites around the world!
